Sunday School is held from 9:15 to 10:15 AM for children ages 3 years to 8th grade. A regular curriculum that provides for a complete overview of the Scriptures every 3 years is followed in each class. One nice feature is that the young children have the same lesson focus as that of the older classes. This facilitates family participation around the same truths of God's Word as they apply to our lives.
Classes are held on Wednesday afternoons 3:45 - 5:00 PM. The classes are for children from age 3 to 6th grade. The lesson topics are from the Scriptures which apply to various parts of doctrine, such as, the Ten Commandments, Apostles' Creed, Lord's Prayer, Sacrament of Baptism, Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, the Office of the Keys/Confession. There is memory work assigned to the students each week that should be preparatory for them to attend class with Pastor as 7th & 8th graders.
This is held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Pastor Jahnke leads these classes in the chief parts of Christian doctrine/teaching: the Ten Commandments, Apostles' Creed, Lord's Prayer, Sacrament of Baptism, Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, the Office of the Keys/Confession. Memory work is given to the students to complete so that, as they mature in faith, they are able to give a reason for the hope that is in them (1 Peter 3:15-->But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.")
The Rite of Confirmation is given to those who successfully complete these doctrine classes. This means that the young person may participate in the rights and privileges of communicant membership within the congregation. This precedes the first reception of the Lord's Supper by the young person.
