We have a variety of organizations or groups in which men, women, and youths have opportunites for spiritual growth in faith and growth in service to the Lord and His Church. In the following paragraphs, you will read a brief description and overview of each of the organizations that are active in the life of God's people gathered at Holy Cross. These groups provide avenues for nuture of one another within the congregation, outreach to others with God's love both in word and deed, and loving service to the Savior through serving others.
This is a group that is affiliated with the International Lutheran Laymen's League which is also commonly know as the LLL. This group meets on the second Sunday evening of each month at 7:30 PM. It meets at the church.
The LLL has oversight of the local broadcast of The Lutheran Hour on KGNO 1370 AM out of Dodge City each Sunday morning at 8:00 AM. The men's club sponsors events like a "Ground Hog Supper" (pancakes and sausage), complimentary sponsorship of newly confirmed young people as Ministry Sponsors in the International Lutheran Laymen's League, and through its fundraising efforts funds scholarships to Kansas Lutherans preparing for full time church work, as well as other annual mission needs.
An average outline for this meeting in general is this: 1>Business Meeting, 2> Bible Study, and 3>Friendship/refreshment hour.

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League is an official auxiliary of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. As such, it participates in mission opportunites both nationally and internationally. This organization sponsors its activities by small offerings called "mites" (a reflection upon the widow's mite in Luke 21: 1 - 4).
There are two of these groups at Holy Cross. One meets as an afternoon group and the other meets as an evening group.
Mary Martha Guild meets on the third Thursday afternoon each month at 1:30 PM. The general outline of each meeting is opening devotions, topic/Bible study led by one of the members, business meeting, closing devotions, and refreshments/friendship time. Special projects that this group undertakes is taking scrap material to sew into quilts to be sent to Lutheran World Relief, clothing collections for world relief that is sent off in October, and various other activities within the congregation as well.
Ruth Guild meets on the first Thursday evening each month at 7:30 PM. The general outline of each meeting is opening devotions, topic/Bible study led by one of the members, business meeting, closing devotions, and refreshments/friendship time. This group undertakes special projects that provide funds for support of various mission projects through the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and other Christian services throughout the country.
This group oversees, as the name implies, the general care of the altar in the church. This includes the changing of altar cloths and banners appropriate to the season of the church year, preparing the altar for the administration of the Lord's Supper, arranging for the gift of flowers upon the altar, arranging for the young people (6th through 8th grade) to light candles. The members of this guild share responsibilities of preparing for worship through a regular rotation of participation with another member of the guild. The altar guild has one major fund raiser each year to gather funds for special needs of worship.
