Do you find yourself so busy that you barely have the chance to breathe?
That you can’t remember the last time you did something for fun?
Or sat down and had a conversation with a family member or friend?
Have I got resources for you!
“In a world of busyness and rushing at a fast pace, the family can easily lose connection and find themselves without a sense of unity. This movement was started to encourage families to make each other a priority, have fun together, grow in faith and make memories along the way.” (Ann, Sarah. The Strong Family Project. Faith Along the Way , 2016.)
The resource is: The Strong Family Project and it’s packed full of ideas and printables for couples and families to make connecting easier, so you can focus on your relationships and those you love! When you start The Strong Family Project, you’re pledging to intentionally connect with your family over the next 65 days using the Challenge Calendar as your guide! And before you freak out, thinking this is another thing to add to your already overflowing plate, let me ease your worries: most of the ideas aren’t incredibly time consuming. Some ideas include: holding hands that day, sending a text about how much you care, or writing a love note!
The first 32 days of the Challenge Calendar for The Strong Family Project are activities for couples, and the last 33 days are activities for your family life with kids! I know not everyone in the congregation are parents or a spouse, but we all are a part of a family. Whether that’s: a husband and wife, empty nesters, expecting parents, single parents, those who are waiting to meet the spouse God intends for them, or a group of close knit friends. And there are even more examples I didn’t list! The point is, that with a little bit of altering, you can make The Strong Family Project work for you! We’ll be posting all of the resources from The Strong Family Project on the church website starting in November, so be on the lookout for some tools, activities, and resources to help make your family a priority!
God’s blessings, and we look forward to doing life together with you! Keep checking back!
